Airline restrictions

I know that it is fairly common knowledge that mp3 players do not disrupt airplane navigation systems or communications yet they still require them to be off until 30,000 ft. Gizmodo recently had an article showing that this practice is nonsense. I agree that everyone should pay attention to the safety announcements but then I think I should have every right to listen to music for takeoff (and have done so many times).

In other news Arkham Asylum 2 was announced. Very excited for this. That game is probably tied for Uncharted 2 for my game of the year.

  1. It is annoying. "Sure, I'll turn off my iPod Shuffle, because as we all know it can accidently decide it no longer wants to play songs but that it instead wants the plane to crash. Is that all flight attendant Maggie?"

My game of the year for casual would be Plants vs. Zombies or Flight Control. For serious gaming I haven't played many of the releases this year, so I will have to postpone that till I can play them all. This will probably happen in 2067 when I am retired.

  2. The 10-minute-wait rule is smart. If a crash or some complication happens, its likely to be in the first or last 10 minutes of a flight. If everyone is listening to their music and not the flight attendants, then it complicates things further.
